This abstract proposes a high-performance boost converter for energy harvesting applications that use wearable thermoelectric generators (TEGs). The converter uses a self-startup mechanism and a high-efficiency maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm to operate in continuous conduction mode (CCM). A unique input-ripple control approach is also presented to improve the MPPT efficiency of the boost converter when running at low input voltages. The proposed model is designed on a 28nm CMOS process. |
