We propose a network system processor for next-generation robots based on Cortex-M3. Recently, high-performance and efficient local networks are studied according to an increasing number of high-performance electronic controller units (ECUs) that are interlocked to control robots. To follow this trend, we designed the processor with the control area network flexible data rate (CAN-FD), local interconnect network (LIN), and FlexRay controller. Additionally, we employed an AI accelerator and ARM Cortex-M3 core to correspond with next-generation robots such as automotive driving robots, and communication AI robots. As the Cortex-M3 core is enabled programming and debugging in real-time, we enable protocol controller specification to modify in real-time. The proposed processor operates in 50MHz frequency and the circuit is a digital type. |
